Adaptive Research offers academic institutions the opportunity to acquire an advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software system at a fraction of the current retail price*.

CFD2000 is a fully integrated software system that allows a CFD researcher to harness the power of an advanced 3D Navier-Stokes flow solver and mesh generation system with minimal effort.

CFD2000 is currently being utilized at universities around the world as a research tool to solve many challenging and interesting fluids and heat transfer problems.

CFD2000:  A Research Tool

STORM is a fast and efficient 3-D finite-volume Navier-Stokes solver that has been extensively validated against experimental data. By utilizing the integral form of the governing equations, conservation is enforced exactly and the PISO algorithm produces superior steady-state and transient solutions.        

Physical Modeling Capabilities

STORM can model advanced chemistry, particle tracking, porous media, non-Newtonian fluids, conjugate heat transfer, free surface, radiation, and moving body problems.

Geometric Modeling Capabilities

CFD models can be set up in Cartesian, cylindrical, and body-fitted coordinate (BFC) systems. CAD and primitive import capabilities are also available.

CFD2000:  A Teaching Tool

In addition to the many advanced mesh generation and physical modeling capabilities, CFD2000 offers unique features that make teaching and learning fast and easy.

Example CFD Model Library:

More than 150 CFD models are provided with the software, ranging from traditional 2-D validation problems (flow around cylinder, backward-facing step, thermally-driven cavity) to 3-D applications, such as transient heart valve motion, hypersonic missile flow and atmospheric dispersion.

User-Subroutine Library:

More than 40 ready-to-use Fortran subroutines are provided with the software that give access to all flow variables, most physical properties, and special moving grid and boundary conditions.
